Hey so this is my address in Santiago. I don't move in until Saturday July 25.There is no zip code needed, just the address above, Nunoa being a district in Santiago.

Wow a week has already passed here in Santiago—a huge city under the beautiful snow capped Andes. We have had a wonderful pre-orientation so far about Chile's history, society, literature and politics etc with lectures from great professors and trips to various neighborhoods and NGO’s to meet with community leaders and residents. We have also gone to a national history museum, winery, and two of the poorest areas in Santiago to discuss some of the problems facing residents as well as issues such as rapid urbanization and social mobility. On the schedule for this next week is a lecture on military history by a Navy general, a trip to a famous mural artist’s studio and class registration!

Most of the lectures and discussions have been in Spanish—some have been easier to understand than others. Over all I am about as lost as I had expected to be…so I guess set the bar low and never get disappointed, right? No, in truth I am feeling fine, confident and excited about the semester here. Looking forward to interesting classes and travelling and meeting my new family.Well I guess that's all for now...Love and God Bless, Charles

Write en espanol for some language practice.
